State of Tennessee v. Billy R. Boyd

Billy R. Boyd, Defendant, seeks review of the trial court’s dismissal of his motion to correct an illegal sentence filed pursuant to Tennessee Rule of Criminal Procedure 36.1. Even though Defendant filed an untimely notice of appeal, we waive the timeliness in the interest of justice. However, because we determine Defendant failed to state a colorable claim for relief, we affirm the judgment of the trial court.
