State of Tennessee v. Jeffery Ray Watts

Case Number
M2025-00728-CCA-R3-CD

The Defendant, Jeffery Ray Watts, was convicted by a Hickman County Circuit Court jury of evading arrest with a motor vehicle creating a risk of death or injury, a Class D felony; reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon, a Class E felony; and leaving the scene of an accident, a Class B misdemeanor. See T.C.A. §§ 39-16-603 (2025) (evading arrest), 39 13-103 (2025) (reckless endangerment), 55-10-102 (2024) (leaving the scene of an accident). The trial court imposed an effective two-year sentence in confinement. On appeal, the Defendant contends that his initial traffic stop, detention, and subsequent arrest were unconstitutional, that the evidence is insufficient to support his convictions, and that he is entitled to relief due to the cumulative effect of errors in the trial court proceedings. We affirm the judgments of the trial court.
