State of Tennessee v. Lamarcus Terrell Carpenter

The Defendant, Lamarcus Terrell Carpenter, was convicted in the Tipton County Circuit Court of being a felon in possession of a firearm after having been convicted of a felony crime of violence, a Class B felony; being a felon in possession of a handgun, a Class E felony; and resisting arrest, a Class B misdemeanor, and received an effective sentence of sixteen years in confinement. On appeal, the Defendant claims that the evidence is insufficient to support his conviction of resisting arrest and that the prosecutor’s inappropriate statements during the State’s cross-examination of the Defendant and during the State’s closing argument warrants a new trial. Based upon our review, we affirm the judgments of the trial court.
